B04 - Towards pulsed photo-DNP at high magnetic fields

Experimental and theoretical work by our research group has put pulsed DNP on the map as a new approach to enhancing the sensitivity of high-resolution magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR. The ap-proach is, however, only viable when combined with dedicated high-frequency and high-amplitude microwave sources. This engineering challenge will be tackled in Projects B01 and B03, in collabo-ration with our group. Meanwhile, in this project, we will put our DNP pulse sequences to a new test: we will investigate if they can be used to transfer polarization from photo-excited triplet states to nuclei.
