B02 - Dilution-free micro-litre scale bullet-dynamic nuclear polarisation

This project seeks to significantly increase the mass-sensitivity of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance by combining bullet-dynamic nuclear polarization (B-DNP) with novel sample preparations, dilution-free melting and microfluidic detection on the micro-litre scale. We anticipate that this strategy will lead to unprecedented mass-sensitivity for liquid-state NMR. A second branch of the project will explore local microwave generation to achieve high microwave power densities with a view towards a re-fined understanding, and a significant acceleration of the DNP buildup process.
